Pledgekeepers have two programs in College
The purpose of Pledgekeepers in colleges is to educate students on the tenets of the national pledge with a view to have them apply the knowledge in their work place and in their classrooms for educators. It also helps them to integrate with these transformational approaches.
1. THE PLEDGEKEEPERS DEVOTIONALS APPROACH
This approach is applicable at all levels and can be used in devotions and gatherings. LESSONS and SONGS are accessible on our website for these devotionals where needed. Colleges may also chose their own format of devotional where the pledge is highlighted and the tenets revised and instructed.
2. PLEDGEKEEPERS CLUB FOR COLLEGES
Club in colleges will be similar to other clubs, however, the focused activities will be different. Activities will
include:
1. Brainstorming ways of communicating the pledge tenets from the classroom,
2. Developing devotional materials for teaching the Pledge Tenets in schools at all levels.
3. Developing teaching aids to include plays and other activities to assist in teaching the pledge.
4. Other creative contribution competition; songs etc.
5. Debating and discussing ways of using the pledge tenets proactively and otherwise in correction and classroom management.
These activities will be done in setting of fun and social interaction but with focused intent on transforming to transform. There will also be engagement in practical projects and other demonstrations of including the tenets in everyday life. This gives teachers in training the opportunity to impact the classroom while in training and prepares them with a mindset of impact and educating the pledge when they transition to teaching. All other activities such as practical demonstrated service to include student to student help and tenet implementation are applicable.
