General Information

Our national anthem is a call to God for answers and solution. The pledge on the other hand is a covenant. Those who understand God will know it is impossible to attract answers from God if we do not align ourselves with His requirement of us. They will also know that unfulfilled vows made to God or before Him will cause Him to respond negatively to us.

The question then is, can the lack of intentional regard for the pledge and determination to perform be a glass ceiling over the heads of our citizens. Could it be why our blessing in business is an easy pick for other nations and nationalities while few Jamaicans make headway. Certainly, where there is no vow there is no responsibility. Jesus did tell us not to swear. Is it possible that the pledge not only contains answers to our national dilemmas but also the reason why many of these exists?

WHILE WE CONTEMPLATE THESE, WE TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT THE PLEDGE. BEYOND ATTRACTING GOD’S FAVOR AND STIMULATING HIS RESPONSE TO OUR PRAYER IN THE ATHEM, FULFILLING THE PLEDGE BY  THEMSELVES IS A COMPREHENSIVE BALM THAT CANNOT BE IGNORED.

The impact of keeping our national pledge goes beyond attracting the favor and answers of God. Every pledge is an answer and a healing balm that our nation badly needs.
Can you imagine the impact on Jamaica if instead of the culture of envy, pulling down each other, we give ourselves to service and helping each other succeed. Instead of the crab mentality where we spend all our time fighting that no one succeeds if you don’t, (this of course is the witchcraft
strongman mentality of our African ancestors; this is also what many foreigners have capitalized on to pay us the wage range of our mentality, minimum wage) we help each other to the top and those above pull others up? This is the attitude of the Indian and Chinese business communities whose strong attitude of collaboration, cooperation and support has made them business leaders in Jamaica.
Unfortunately, not much of their money is reinvested here, stays here or gets engaged in social intervention here.

Can you imagine the impact of brotherhood in our schools, our children’s education, the strong helping the weak, on bullying, partnership with the needy, care for the abused as a natural action, anti-gang culture?
Can you imagine our children growing up with a mental awareness and commitment to justice and its impact on crime, corruption, equity and fairness in our society?
Can you imagine the consciousness of our commitment to peace and its impact on gangs, politics, families, conflict resolution, unforgiveness, hatred, retaliatory action?
Can you imagine the impact of our commitment to diligent work engrained in every child on our economy, productivity personal and national success, productivity and GDP, and against idleness and time wasting?
Can you imagine our commitment to creativity on industry, innovation, personal roadblocks and restrictive barriers; an unstoppable mentality?
Can you imagine the power of a people cultured to think generously on our wealth, success, equity, social well-being, and, if history and the Bible can be trusted, our personal and national prosperity and happiness and our international image? CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…
